Nicotine.

Nicotine is both a sedative and a stimulant.

When the body is exposed to nicotine, the individual experiences a “kick.” This is partly caused by nicotine stimulating the adrenal glands, which results in the release of adrenaline.

This surge of adrenaline stimulates the body.

Nicotine activates dopamine in the pleasure and motivation areas of the brain.

Dopamine is a brain chemical that affects emotions, movements, and sensations of pleasure and pain. Thus, both the mind and body begin to equate nicotine with an addictive, yet pleasurable experience.

A similar effect occurs when people take heroin or cocaine. The drug user experiences a pleasurable sensation.

I read somewhere that Nicotine and falling in love give the ‘user’ the same type of high. The use of nicotine releases the same hormone dopamine that is experienced with sentiments of falling or being in love.

Imagine The connection that you have with a person can be so addictive that you begin to feel like you physically need them.

This level of toxicity is Unmatched. And oftentimes we confuse this toxicity with a soul-tie or some other form of spiritual or metaphysical connection.

We’ve all done it.. judged someone or asked them “Why are you still dealing with So and So…?” Telling them they deserve better.. Walk away.. etc…

Not taking into account the fact that we’ve been there too.

We’ve all felt like all the air has been sucked out of our lungs when things fall apart with the person we’d give our own life for.

Yet and still when they walked away... we still yearned for them...we continued to hold space for them in our hearts and in our homes...we continued to search for them in our dreams.. replayed everything that went wrong.. even fabricated in our mind that one last hit was all we need… you know that ‘closure’ that we love to chase? Yeah...our last hit of nicotine that feeds our addiction...

But unlike nicotine... ain’t no patch for love lost.

& the reality of it all is some of us have been addicted to love..more than others…& despite popular belief, we all wanna be loved, even the most uptight females & the biggest playboys.

I feel the greatest thing about this love thing is the extremity of it all.

see...

We either gonna learn from it or we're gonna lose in the game of love… we can let that high we receive from temporary emotions consume us.. or we can take each experience for exactly what it is... at that time... in that moment...with that person. #Acceptance

Acceptance is merely acknowledging that either it is or it isn't. We often find ourselves reluctant to accept reality because we feel as though simply accepting situations and people exactly as they are and appear to be, means that we are assigning value to the behavior or the action. When acceptance really just provides you with the peace of mind that people are just… people.

Always keep in mind the love that we have for someone.. should never surpass the love we have for ourselves.

Our own personal happiness must be secure enough that when we feel that adrenaline rush... when that “Kick” of dopamine hits...we don’t get addicted to the feeling & find ourselves searching for it like the last cigarette you just knew you had left in the pack.

The reality is, you can’t love another until you have first learned to love and accept yourself.

But hey, I’d be hesitant to take my word too… I’m just a sucker for love in a world full of imposters and shallow souls.
